Life Source of Minnesota Announces the Implementation of the GlucoCare™ IGC System

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - March 20, 2009 — Life Source of Minnesota, an organ procurement organization based in Minneapolis, announced today the implementation of the GlucoCare™ IGC System throughout its network of hospitals located in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota. “Hyperglycemia has been associated with worse renal function in deceased organ donors,” said Dr. Michael Marvin, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of Pronia Medical Systems, LLC, who is also the Director of Liver Transplantation at Jewish Hospital and the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. Better control of hyperglycemia, in combination with improved donor management, in deceased organ donors may lead to increased conversion of possible donors to actual donors as well as increase the number of organs per donor.

About Pronia Medical Systems, LLC – Pronia is a Louisville, KY-based company founded in January, 2007. The company’s first product is the GlucoCare™ IGC System, an automated decision support system for the management of hyperglycemia in critically ill patients. Currently the system has 510(k) clearance for two Yale protocols with glucose targets of 90-120 mg/dl and 100-139 mg/dl. Many other protocols that address the needs of specific patient populations are currently under development.
